Prefrontal cortex involved in conscious vision

An international group of researchers demonstrate that prefrontal cortex is critically involved in the emergence of conscious visual perception. Their discoveries are now being published in the journal Nature Communications and constitute a major conceptual advance in consciousness re-search, providing important new data for the fervent debate about the neural basis of conscious-ness. The results have implications for our understanding of what consciousness is and how it arises.
