The 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) will convene in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) from 30 November to 12 December 2023. COP28 will in particular conclude the first Global Stocktake (GST) under the Paris Agreement. To keep the objectives of the Paris Agreement within reach, the outcome of the GST needs to dramatically step up the fight against climate change. In particular, the conference needs to send a strong signal on accelerating the global energy transition and enhancing support for developing countries.
