Today, an international group of leading marine scientists, including Prof. Dr Andreas Oschlies from the GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, launched a new European Marine Board (EMB) Future Science Brief on marine Carbon Dioxide Removal. The authors emphasise that reducing greenhouse gas emissions must remain the absolute priority – CDR approaches can only complement these efforts, not replace them.
