New Guide to Carbon Dioxide Removal Decisions: Launch of the CDRatlas Interactive Information Portal

31.05.2024/Kiel. In order to limit global warming, it is essential to drastically reduce our greenhouse gas emissions. However, as reductions alone are not sufficient, the complementary use of methods for active carbon dioxide removal (CDR) from the atmosphere is increasingly being discussed. Researchers at the GEOMAR want to support decision-making processes in politics, society and industry. To this end, they launched the Carbon Removal Atlas (CDRatlas) research project, which for the first time combines sound scientific knowledge with potential applications of CDR to develop an interactive and freely accessible information portal to support the development and implementation of CDR.
