Mysterious molecule’s function in skin cancer identified

A researcher has uncovered the M.O. of a mysterious molecule called SPRIGHTLY that acts as a hub for cancer-related genes in the nucleus. The study identified ‚major‘ RNA binding partners — genes already implicated in a variety of cancers. In a mouse model of melanoma, tumors with reduced SPRIGHTLY grew more slowly, indicating use as a therapeutic target or biomarker. (Mehr in: Cancer News — ScienceDaily)
