Learning from neuroblastoma about how to treat cancerous tumors

Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) has approved €3.1 million for a large-scale research project which will explore new methods for identifying and treating neuroblastoma in the next four years. This form of cancer, which occurs mainly in children, will serve as a model system to help better characterize and treat many kinds of malignant tumors on a patient-by-patient basis in the future. Researchers from the Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) will be working together with colleagues doing clinic and basic research at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
